KUKA Roboter GmbH is an IWKA Group company and is the world's leading manufacturer of PCbased industrial robots. The company's core competencies are the development, production and sale of industrial robots, controllers, software and linear units.

Uniform control concept

With the introduction of the controller KR C1 in 1996, KUKA Roboter GmbH was the world's first robot manufacturer to make the move away from a proprietary controller to a PC-based controller using a Windows interface. Four years later, the new KR C2 controller generation has made its appearance - systematically upgraded, with a more powerful PC and drive package. The results of systematic development work can be seen in the modular cabinet concept, decentralized drive technology, powerful, latest-generation PC and electronic safety concept. A unified control concept for the entire KUKA robot range, high reliability and unique ease of maintenance provide decisive benefits, and make the KR C2 a worthy successor to the KR C1 - the world's first PC-based controller.

Series 2000

Through the use of the powerful new KUKA Series 2000, whose KR 150, KR 180 and KR 210 robot types cover the high payload range, the customer can take advantage of longer reach, increased loadbearing capacity and a higher acceleration capacity which makes shorter cycle times possible. The design provides considerably greater flexibility, thus expanding the range of potential uses. Another KUKA innovation aimed at opening up new fields of industry is the protection rating on the robot wrist of IP 65 or IP 67, used for example for foundry applications or water jet cleaning
