Markets and Technologies

The progressive, efficient automation of processes is a key factor for success in every market. Machine vision is a crucial component of automated production control and quality assurance. ISRA machine vision solutions meet the most demanding production requirements and are individually designed to fit each specific application. Standard products are used to provide customers with an unbeatable price/ performance ratio. ISRA's state-of-the-art, user-friendly technology and expertise is evident in more than 6,000 machine vision systems currently in use by leading manufacturers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With its machine vision systems, ISRA covers the entire production process as a key to higher productivity and better quality.
Longstanding partnerships and thousands successfully installed systems - for example in more than 90 automotive plants - that operate safely and reliably around the clock emphasise the experience and technological competence of ISRA VISION. References like Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Renault, Seat, Volvo or VW rely on ISRA to optimise their process chain with vision systems.

Robot vision

Seeing in the third dimension. Robot guidance for difficult tasks such as positioning, assembly, handling or paint finishing. ISRA's portfolio of internationally unique solutions ranges from 2D to 6D. ISRA technology imitates the interaction of the human eye and arm. 2D, 2½D, MONO3D, 3D and 3D stereo robot vision systems for automated handling in fully automated palletising, stacking, assembly and position recognition applications. New innovations were added with the Geometry Gauging Sensor (GGS) and the Robot Guidance Sensor (RGS): two all-in-one sensor families for high accuracy, 3D robot guidance and gauging applications. All systems are distinguished by their robust recognition, contour-based algorithms, position and scaling methods, their flexibility and their ease of operation, as well as automatic calibration, model teach-in and standard interfaces for leading robot manufacturers. The Robot vision systems are mainly used in various production steps of the automotive industry and as integrated systems in various items of equipment and machines of general industries (OEM's and system integrators).

Quality check, gauging and inspection

Whether applied to assembly inspection of motors, transmission unit components or for a completeness check of the entire engine compartment relating to subsystems or components, ISRA systems offer outstanding speed and flexibility, even for complex assembly units. ISRA systems make it possible to measure the length, width, diameter, edge parallelism and similar geometric characteristics of components right down to the micrometer range.
Standard systems are offered that are ideal for 100% quality inspection in the fields of:
• assembly inspection
• glue and adhesive application inspection
• code inspection
• completeness inspection

Versatile Intelligence for Vision Automation - VIVA

VIVA is the intelligent link between Quality and Robot Vision tasks. This universal software workbench makes it possible to combine gauging, inspection, identification and 2D to 3D Robot Vision. The tool is based on more than a decade of experience in automation. Due to its stateof-the-art design even complex tasks can be fulfilled in a flexible, fast and economic way.

Applications automotive industry

The automotive industry uses ISRA technology to completely automate its production and thus to reduce costs and make production more flexible. The systems are used in all steps of the production process. Loading and unloading of presses, gauging technology and adhesive inspection in the body shop, windshield and cockpit assembly, detection of car body positions and paint inspection in the paint shop or wheel assembly are just a few examples of our product range. ISRA systems are in use at all applications in the automotive industry's process chain such as:
• Press Shop
• BIW
• Paint
• Final Assembly
• Powertrain
