About Us

Welcome to Automotive Manufacturing Solutions magazine

AMS is one of the few magazines dedicated to covering automotive manufacturing, and the only global medium for the sector.  This could appear to be a daunting task, but it is one which we relish and look forward to with each issue of the magazine.

Coverage of global automotive manufacturing brings a global challenge: carmakers in Asia want to know what new technologies their counterparts in Europe are using; and likewise; carmakers in Europe and the US are interested in the progress being made by manufacturers in both newly-emerging areas and already established centres of carmaking excellence. Both groups need to hear about the latest technologies, systems, materials and manufacturing services.

As such, we structure the magazine's editorial programme by subject and by region. There is specific coverage of areas from casting, forging and the press shop, through machining, welding and fastening to robotics, automation and the paintshop.

In the regional focus articles and throughout our six bi-monthly issues, AMS strives to offer balanced, yet in-depth reporting of the global industry, revisiting well-known carmaking areas for updates on new developments and innovations, and travelling to those less familiar locations to learn about the techniques used locally. Recent AMS editorial staff visits have included Korea, Canada, Italy, Brazil and China, as well as the familiar locations in Europe and North America.

AMS offers insights into individual manufacturers in its vehicle maker section, focusing on the tools, technology and processes used by different OEMs to make their products. They range from the smaller and specific manufacturers like Bentley and Magna Steyr among others, to big volume producers not only from Toyota, Ford, Renault Nissan and the like, but also TATA Motors and Fiat South America.

Some readers may recall our specialist manufacturer coverage. This is back; in this era of budget cuts, those that survive on limited resources could well have a technique or two for their bigger cousins.

Above all, AMS will continue to feature key interviews with top carmaking manufacturing executives. They wrestle every day with challenges from production downtime to the environment and, in our humble opinion, do a tremendous job. AMS is above all for them.
